The Vanities - Just Passing Thru (Review)

By John Eliot

I heard from The Vanities last night. If you don’t know who they are maybe you should! An electro-rock duo from Cardiff made up of Rhys Bradley (vocals/guitar) and Adam Hill (bass guitar/synths). I have their debut LP “2001” courtesy of Spotify. That is one worth listening to. Quality.

But it is the single I’ve been asked to review.

Side A - Just Passing Thru with vocals from award winning artist Bob Fitzgerald and the flip side, AA Just Passing Thru a jammy remix.

Side A features local award-winning country music artist Bob Fitzgerald who brings his unmistakable voice to the track. With an arrangement that embraces country and gospel influences, Just Passing Thru is a heart-breaking sermon on love, loss and the importance of living life to the full.

Side AA is the incendiary remix by Jammy, the South Wales-based super-producer with its fusion of rock, country and funk sensibilites, the Jammy remix serves up an irresistible slice of contemporary pop heaven that has hit single written all over it. I love it.
