Rory Challenger - Cruiser (Review)

Review by Esme Thomson (Welsh Connections’

Cruiser’ is the brand new track from indie extraordinaire, Rory Challenger. Upon reading the publicity blurb, it is no shock that Rory has been a keen musician since the age of 14 and the superb production on ‘Cruiser’ pays homage to this. His vast catalogue of tracks makes ‘Crusier’ a perfect addition to his collection of blissful tracks.

I played the song for the first time on a warm and rather sunny spring afternoon, and the upbeat guitar riffs seemed to be the perfect soundtrack. The guitar mixed with the percussion provides for a fast yet effective tempo that mixes well with the defined vocals. The lyrics, despite telling a story of heartbreak, are enjoyable and catchy, ideal for a song released in time for summer.

Rory Challenger released ‘Cruiser’ on the 5th of April 2024, yet another brilliant song from an artist who makes some amazing contributions to the Welsh music scene.
