Oh, Hello Autumn!

So much for Hurricane Nigel bringing warmer weather - all we’ve seen is rain! Never mind less than 100 days to Christmas. There you go, we’ve said it!

Well, even though the weather has been inclement and we’ve all been trying to work out whether we’re in a 20 or a 30 zone there’s been some fantastic music being made.

Rising country star, Nia Nicholls played a wonderful set on Friday night at EJ’s in Llanelli as the special guest of Coyote Creed  - and then she was back in the town on Saturday playing at The Second 45!

Coming up this week we have Secret Postal Society on Friday at the Elysium Gallery in Swansea, Huw James at Llanelli’s flagship record store and Eleri playing at the Uplands Market also in Swansea.

Our Welsh Connections show botched up its 20th No.1 show of 2023 with Mike’s interview with radio DJ and music promoter Connor Morgans - this week he’s talking with prog-rocker Hayley Griffiths, the UK’s No.1 country star Preston D Barnes and Nigel Hopkins (It Bites / Chris De Burgh band / The Jacks) who has just released his debut solo album! And we’ve heard a rumour that he’ll be catching up with Mr Phormula, who’s filming at Tinopolis, too.

The TIWN team are currently working through all the TIWNFEST applications for 2024 (it’s going to be BRILLIANT) and the entries for The Celynen Film Festival are starting to build - so it’s going to be a busy winter in the valleys…..!

There’ll be two tiers of judges for the film festival and we will be announcing the first judge tomorrow over on our socials!
