Let’s Celebrate!

I think we’re all hoping for a late Summer as we roll towards September because, let’s face it, so far it’s been pretty dismal weather so far - but we’ve still had plenty to celebrate and shout out about! 

Our very good friends Alastair Jenkins (Taurus 1984) and Canadian synth-superstar Dana Jean Phoenix tied the knot on Saturday just ahead of their gigs in Italy. They told us that they plan to settle in Wales to record more new music.

Catherine Elms played a wonderful set at The Second 45, in Llanelli.

In fact, it was a very busy Sunday as the TIWN team zoomed to discuss a very exciting new project that is on the horizon - you could say that we’re casting our net wide on this one!

The latest Welsh Connections interview show went live this week - Mike caught up with the next big thing out of Newport. Take a listen to him chat with The Rogues. 

Coming up this Saturday at The Second 45 they have, the cult legend, Jeremy Gluck of The Barracudas fame. He’ll be taking to the record shop stage at 3pm for an intimate set. Get there early as space is limited - and if you only want the records, you can see the guys at the Mumbles Record Fair on Sunday at the Ostreme Hall. 

We’ve had some fantastic airplay around the world for Ronda Ray, Casey Maunder, Anonymous Iconoclasts and the new release from Jammy - thanks to all the stations and especially Craig’s Welsh Connections Playlist show for the support. 

And for all of you that have been asking (we call it nagging tbh) about the latest TIWN magazine…….. it’s gone to the printers and will be available to purchase from mid-September! Our launch will be at Newbridge Memo on September 15th! It’s a GOOOOOOD one!
