Swansea Arena is certainly packing in the shows in the run up to Christmas and the Jersey Boys is just one of many fantastic events they’ve brought to the city.

Based on the true story of The Four Seasons, and dramatised by Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice, it’s a gritty tale all about the rise of one of the most loved US harmony groups. Fronted by Frankie Valli they rose to fame, surrounded by the New Jersey mobsters, with songs such as ‘Walk Like A Man’, ‘Let’s Hang On’ and ‘Sherry’ - songs that have since become almost standards - and it’s these songs that were brought to life on stage last night.

It’s a fascinating show which reveals many untold stories that the A&R men of the 1960’s would never have allowed to be told - and it’s a testament to the vision of the show’s creators that these tales are now revealed to us. If you love great music and performance you’ll not want to miss this show. The cast are remarkable at bringing the show to life with boundless energy. A particular mention to Michael Pickering as Frankie Valli and Blair Gibson as Bob Gaudio. A first class, world-beating performance for a world class venue.
