Episode One
How To: Find A Good Producer by Kaysha Louvain
Finding yourself a good producer can be difficult, not because of the standard of talent out there, but finding someone that you can bond with can be hard. A relationship between producer and artist is such a vital thing. You should be able to understand one another and you should be on the same word, on the same line, and on the same page as them, when creating your music.
To be able to find someone like this, simply ask around.
TOP TIP: Use the power of social media to help you. That worked for me. I explained what I wanted to do, what my sound was like and who my influences were and BANG!
Once it was clear that I had found the person who understood where I wanted to take my music, the next step was…TRUST!
NEXT TIP: Allow your producer to explore and create their magic. As writers, singers, musicians and performers we have a hard time of letting go. But trust me. It’s good to let someone else contribute because I guarantee you, they’ll do something you wouldn’t have thought of.
You are now a team. You’re now creating amazing music together, why stop?
FINAL TIP: DON’T STOP!
