FEATURE: Malachi Gagnon
Fueled by heartbreak and hopeful reflections, Malachi Gagnon begs you to "Stay" in his brand new single. Written solely by the teen singer-songwriter, "Stay" reflects on good love gone bad in a memory-centric, folk-infused track.
Rising folk artist Malachi Gagnon went from family talent shows during COVID to viral sensation when he was only fourteen. The small town New Hampshire native found himself skyrocketing to new heights after posting videos of covers and original pop-country tracks on social media. Gagnon's opportunistic mindset has transformed vitality into a successful music career, and now the seventeen-year-old holds over 5 Million streams on Spotify alone.
Over the past two years, Gagnon has found himself in rooms with some of Nashville's best songwriters, such as David Ray Stevens (Jelly Roll, Lainey Wilson). Gagnon's powerful introspective lyrics reminiscent of classic country storytelling paired with his "dynamic voice" (Hollywood Life) create a version of singer-songwriter that transcends genre. Influenced by the likes of Zach Bryan and Noah Kahan, Malachi Gagnon is determined to make music that appeals to folk fans and beyond.
"My hope is that, throughout the whole song, you can feel the memory before you in real time," states Gagnon on the imminent release. "I wrote it while reflecting on some fond memories that were starting to feel too distant. I wanted to try to express that pining in a song, and 'Stay' is the product of that."
