Swedish band Coated is back with their sophomore album “Once Again The Timing's Off” and it’s just as wide-ranged as expected.

“Once Again The Timing's Off” features ten tracks, each representing a chapter in a story of love, loss and reconciliation. ”I guess we got better at forming sentences that makeup some kind of story,” says vocalist Filip Borg.

While “Inaline” is a classic indie rock tune, harking back to the glory days of The Strokes, “I’ll Go I’ll Go I’ll Go” is inspired by dance and Indiepop. “Self-Restraint” is a modern rock ballad and “Up For Auction” is a fusion of light jazz and classic rock.

”I am completely bored by albums where every song sounds the same and I made it my mission to make them all distinctive,” Guitarist Kelvin Olsson explains. ”One of my favorites from the album is ”What Are You For” where I tried playing in a country-esque style.”

The new album can be seen as a sequel to their first album. What they would have made if they had the equipment and skills at the time. Marcus Johnsson, producer and band member explains that the new album is a big step up from their first attempt.

Managing to hold on to fan expectations “Once Again The Timing's Off” is a welcomed contribution to the indie scene that you don’t want to miss. Atmospheric melodies and catchy riffs are here to liven your winter.
